These vintage plates, produced by the W. S. George Pottery Company in the late 1930s or early 1940s, are known as the “Heart of Jesus and Virgin Mary” plates, sold individually rather than as a set. The company, which operated from 1904 to 1960, was a prominent American pottery manufacturer with facilities in Ohio and Pennsylvania. The plates feature a hallmark with a painter’s palette and a large “S” for Sabin, along with the inscription “Made in U.S.A” and “Warranted 22k.” The Jesus plate has a stained chip and a hairline crack, while the Mary plate has a hairline crack, both with minimal wear to the 22k gold rim. The 1950 Crest-O-Gold series by the same company also featured images of Jesus and Mary, with a different hallmark and a larger size. The older plates are 7.25” in diameter, while the 1950 edition is 10” in diameter and marked as the “First Edition 1950.” Despite some minor imperfections, these plates are a unique and historical addition to any collection, predating the 1950s and World War II. The plates were produced between 1904 to 1939 and they are in very good condition for their age. The photos show what damage is on each plate. These Religious plates are in very good condition concentering they about hundred years old with other necks, scratches, repairs, fleabites, stains, wear-marks and has not been modified in any way.
